The French International’s contract with Arsenal is set to finish at the end of the year and it is still not known whether he will stay at the London club. Gael Clichy is a left back for Arsenal and his contract talks have stalled following unknown reasons.
Arsenal will call Gael Clichy in for make-or-break contract talks next month.
The Daily Mail
The paper describes Clichy as ‘stalling on a new Gunners deal’ and with the club ‘fearful’ that Clichy ‘not extend his stay at the Emirates and have already pinpointed Celtic left-back Emilio Izaguirre as a potential replacement.’ Arsenal are aiming to keep Clichy at Arsenal for as long as possible.
Should the Frenchman leave Arsenal, he will have no shortage of potential suitors, with Barcelona rumoured to be in the mix for the Frenchman’s elusive signature. Arsenal are also reportedly already looking around for potential replacements, with Kieran Gibbs being seen as too young to be handed the responsibility of the full time first XI left back role.
