Liverpool’s Possible Lineups Next Season

Liverpool are to kickstart the next season by hosting Sunderland in their opening match. With Jordan Henderson the only signing Kenny Dalglish has managed to complete so far, we could be seeing the likes of Stewart Downing, Eden Hazard or Bojan Krkic at Anfield by the end of the transfer window.

In this post, we will be checking out Kenny Dalglish’s possible lineups next season.

1. If Eden Hazard arrives

It’s hard to say where Eden Hazard will end up at the end of the transfer window. With top European clubs like Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United all having developed major interests on the Lille youngster, Kenny Dalglish will definitely have to face a big competition if he is to win Eden Hazard’s signature.

Nonetheless, the arrival of Eden Hazard will definitely put a broad smile on the faces of all the Liverpool fans (which includes me of course!). A speedy winger with wonderful skills and abilities to go past defenders in just a blink of an eye, I wouldn’t be surprised if I see Eden Hazard dominate the world of football after the likes of Xavi, Steven Gerrard or Cristiano Ronaldo have retired.

Here’s the lineup we might see if Eden Hazard happens to sign for Liverpool.

2. If Bojan arrives

It’ll be a big signing, and I believe the chances of seeing Bojan Krkic at Liverpool is actually higher than Eden Hazard’s as the Spanish international has pretty much fallen out of favour at the fantastic Barcelona starting 11 due to the likes of David Villa, Lionel Messi and Pedro. Bojan famously made his Barcelona debut at the age of just 17 (back in 16 September 2007) when he came on to replace former Barcelona winger Giovani Dos Santosin the 78th minute when Barcelona faced CA Osasuna, breaking Lionel Messi’s record of the youngest Barcelona player to feature in a La Liga fixture.

Bojan, only 20 years of age, has already made his 100th league appearance for the Catalan club when Barcelona took on Getafe. He currently has 104 appearances to his name with a total of 26 goals. The Barcelona-number 9 is under contract at Camp Nou until 2015 after signing an extension at December last year.

Here’s the possible Liverpool lineup if manager Kenny Dalglish successfully captures Bojan Krkic.

3. If Zapata arrives

Yes, Liverpool are in desperate need for a top class centre-back, and Cristian Zapata can be the one who brings solid stopping power to the table for The Reds. The Udinese defender has previously reported that he is close in completing a deal to Liverpool, and also stated that he hopes to join a ‘big club’ like Liverpool.

We will see everything at the end of the Copa America, but I can say that contacts with Liverpool are at an advanced stage.

I hope to join this big club.

Cristian Zapata

His arrival might ultimately bump Danish centre-back Daniel Agger to the bench, or will Kenny Dalglish play a 5-3-2 (Agger at left back position while Carragher, Skrtel and Zapata in the middle) to keep Agger’s place in the starting lineup?

Here are a few possible lineups :

Players Liverpool ACTUALLY Need – Part 3

Welcome to the third and final part of the Players Liverpool ACTUALLY Need article. This post is followed by the first two episodes – which we previously discussed about the ‘ideal’ center backs and left backs for Liverpool.

Click here to read the first part.

Click here to read the second part.

As we all know, Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has been busy searching for a left winger in the transfer market as he continues to rejuvenate the squad following the major signing of Jordan Henderson. In this post, we’ll be taking a closer look at the ‘ideal’ left wingers for Liverpool – apart from the ones like Ashley Young, Eden Hazard or Charlie Adam that King Kenny has been monitoring.

1. Diego Capel

A Spanish international who is currently playing for La Liga side Sevilla FC. The 23-year-old is a Sevilla Youth Academy graduate after a brief spell at the Barcelona youth team. Having helped Spain to the 2006 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship glory, Capel has 2 senior caps to his name so far – making his impressive debut for the senior side by coming out as a second half substitute in a 3–0 friendly away win over Denmark, setting up two goals.

Premiership sides Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in luring the Sevilla star away from his country soil.

2. Pedro Leon

Operates at both sides down the flank. The Real Madrid winger has pretty much fallen out of favour at the Santiago Bernabeu after enduring a disappointing season under Jose Mourinho. The 24-year-old is yet to feature in Spain’s senior side yet, having capped 6 times in the Under-21 national side. Pedro Leon only managed 6 appearances in the La Liga this campaign, with only 1 goal in the UEFA Champions League all season.

He is known for his excellent touch on ball with both his feet and is also a fast player capable of playing down both wings. West London club Chelsea have reportedly been setting their sighs on the Spanish winger.

3. Ryan Babel

I was utterly disappointed when I first saw the news that former Liverpool winger Ryan Babel signed for German side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim last season. This boy’s got a huge talent to be honest, scored a few excellent goals during his time at Liverpool and was really enjoying to watch. He hasn’t been that impressive in the Bundesliga so far, only scoring once from a very limited 15 appearances – a season which saw Hoffenheim lie in an uncomfortable 11th league position.

He hasn’t been given that much opportunities under former coach Rafa Benitez. To be honest, I personally think Babel is way better than Maxi Rodriguez – don’t mention the huge age margin, Babel’s just a lot more faster and fitter than Maxi, and also a lot more skillful as well!

4. Pablo Piatti

‘La Liga’s Hidden Jewel’ is what they call him. Standing at only 1.63 m (5 ft 4 in) tall, the 22-year-old sheds a slight resemblance with Barcelona’s sensation Lionel Messi (seriously!). Piatti’s had quite a decent campaign last season, with 8 goals and 4 assists from a total of 35 appearances for Almeria in Spain’s top division. Almeria may only be a tiny club located on the historical and geographical periphery of the Spanish game, but Piatti is certainly a player who demands a great deal of attention.

Like Lionel Messi, Pablo Piatti has pure intelligence in ball control and also precision in front of goal, a deadly finisher. Premiership side Everton have previously been told by Almeria to get £38 million for Piatti if negotiations between the two clubs are to start (which Everton of course rejected).

That’s all for the Players Liverpool ACTUALLY Need article, thanks for viewing guys! Don’t go too far away from Two Liverpool Fans as we will be provide the freshest transfer news each day 🙂

Players Liverpool ACTUALLY Need – Part 2

Here is the second part of the Players Liverpool ACTUALLY Need post. Well in the first part of the post, we discussed about the ‘ideal’ centre backs for Liverpool, click here to read the previous part.

As I stated, we’ll be checking out the ‘ideal’ left backs for Liverpool in this episode. Thus, these are the left backs Liverpool should consider.

1. Marcelo Vieira

Real Madrid’s most promising left back at the moment. Marcelo, aged 23, is known for his lightning speed and durability.

Despite not being the best of tacklers around, the Brazilian has managed to mark down Barcelona’s unprecedented Lionel Messi in several occasions during the El Clasico matches. Marcelo has got 3 goals and 5 assists from a total of 32 appearances for Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga last season – a stat that is absolutely not bad at all for a defender.

2. Domenico Criscito

Some may think I must be joking. Or worse, some might have not even heard of this lad before. In actual fact I am not!

Criscito starred in the 2010 FIFA World Cup for Italy after numerous eye-catching performances for Genoa (now at Napoli) in the Italian Serie A. The 24-year-old has managed 3 assists from a total of 36 Serie A matches last season. His solid displays in Italy has now put him on German powerhouse Bayern Munich’s transfer radar.

3. Miguel Veloso

Mainly operates as an offensive left back. The Portuguese international is excellent in breaking the opposition’s possession and also making well-timed tackles, the exact kind of player Liverpool need – so can someone tell me why he hasn’t been on Liverpool’s shopping list?

Premiership sides Manchester City, Bolton and Tottenham Hotspur have all been monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation, and with Veloso only making 19 appearances after a not-so-impressive season, the Genoa man could well be on his way to a top club soon if Liverpool are still not keeping an eye on him.

So that’s all for this episode, the post on the ‘ideal’ wingers Liverpool ACTUALLY need will be up really soon, thanks for reading guys.

Players Liverpool ACTUALLY Need

The Reds’ manager Kenny Dalglish has been busy searching for players in the transfer market. Liverpool are currently in need for a left back, a centre back and a winger, but the arrival of Jordan Henderson hasn’t really strengthened the squad yet as the former Sunderland midfielder usually plays down the middle.

Here are a list of players that are ‘ideal’ to Liverpool, players that Liverpool actually need if they are to mount up a serious title challenge next season. (they haven’t really been linked with moves to Liverpool yet)

We’ll start off with the centre backs Liverpool ACTUALLY need.

1. Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic

Both played a major part in Borussia Dortmund’s success in the German Bundesliga. Hummels was previously hailed as the best man-marker of Germany while Subotic’s impressive form in the German league has certainly caught the attention of several top European clubs.

At the age of just 22, Neven Subotic has already made a total of 98 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 10 goals. Whereas Hummels was the highest ranking defender on the Castrol Performance Index on 24th May 2011, an amazing rank of 7th in overall.

With Kenny Dalglish putting so much emphasis in signing Phil Jones (and failed), perhaps one of these two Borussia Dortmund defenders are way better options then Jones?

2. Simon Kjaer

Was previously on Liverpool’s transfer radar but was then removed, I don’t exactly know why. The 22-year-old Denmark international has received rave reviews for his eye-catching performances in the Bundesliga this season, which begs the question why the club are looking to offload such an exciting prospect – which still doesn’t tell me why Liverpool are not keeping an eye on him.

However, I do think it’s possible to lure Kjaer to Liverpool, with his international teammate Daniel Agger proving to be a decisive factor in convincing the player to move to Anfield. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur have been closely monitoring Kjaer’s situation and could pounce on the Wolfsburg defender anytime.

Don’t go too far away as we’ll be checking out the ‘ideal’ left backs for Liverpool in our next episode.
