Harry Redknapp has urged Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy to raise some funds for him to bring in the three top-quality players in order for the club to mount a successful bid to bring UEFA Champions League football back to White Hart Lane.
Spurs enjoyed the glamour of hosting the likes of Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League last season, but their disappointing league form towards the end of the domestic campaign meant that they’ve been defeated by Manchester City for England’s fourth and final spot in the UEFA Champions League.
Veteran goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been the only signing Tottenham Hotspur has managed so far this summer, but the club have been strongly linked with moves for Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao, West Ham’s Scott Parker and Fulham attacker Moussa Dembele.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp set high expectations for his men next season and will be hoping for charmain Daniel Levy to try and bring in three “fantastic” signings to help him take the club back among Europe’s elite.
I want Daniel to go out and get three fantastic players now to come in. You can’t say that just because we didn’t make the Champions League, we’re not going to improve next year.
If you do that then we’re not going to get in it again. That’s a fact, because you won’t pass the teams that finished above you last year.
If we don’t improve then they will improve. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal – they will improve, and Man City… they’re unbelievable. They are never going to stop improving as will Kenny (Dalglish) with Liverpool now.
You have to keep improving if you want to keep anywhere near those teams. I certainly feel we need three players of real quality if we are going to compete with those teams otherwise it will be very difficult.

Mario Mamic, the advisor of Tottenham Hotspur star Luka Modric, has stated that he is very confident the Croatian will be staying at White Hart Lane until the end of the transfer window.
Modric has been strongly linked with a switch to 19-time English champions Manchester United as the Red Devils’ manager Sir Alex Ferguson has previously described him as the ‘ideal replacement’ for the retired midfielder Paul Scholes.
However, Modric’s advisor, Mario Mamic, doubts that the ex-Dinamo Zagreb player will be moving to Old Trafford next season.
Luka will not go to Manchester United and he will also stay at Tottenham because I know that president Daniel Levy will not let him go.
Mamic’s father Zdravko is vice-president at Dinamo and believes Manchester United may have to top the club-record £30.75million when they paid for another former Tottenham Hotspur player, Dimitar Berbatov, in 2008 if they are to win the signature of Luka Modric.
I heard that somebody has offered £20 million pounds for Luka but that’s crazy.
When we talk about Modric, that price would only be enough to buy peanuts.
So we’re back to the daily column here on TLF and well, boy have we got some gossip for you today. We got some from Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.
So straight to it!
Tottenham have Zero Interest in Joe Cole
I guess the title says it all, doesn’t it? talkSport has exclusively revealed that after some digging, Tottenham are in fact not interested in making a move for Liverpool FC outcast Joe Cole. They name the source as ‘a source close to Tottenham’ so perhaps it is true.
Tottenham chased him after he was flogged from Stamford Bridge in the summer last season, but Liverpool offered him better terms and at that point, he viewed Liverpool as the strongest side that was fighting for his signature.
Finally, will the saga end?
This is me talking about the deal of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas as Arsenal have finally received an offer ‘worthy’ of their skipper’s value and their taking in deeply into consideration. The Daily Mirror has reported that a swap will be added into the deal for Barcelona.
Barcelona are intent on using their talented young midfielder Thiago Alcantara as part of a 50 million pound deal. He has found his chances limited at the Nou Camp and Arsenal are willing takers of the youth, so it just might work out in favour of Arsenal here. Remember Fernando Torres, anyone?
Liverpool Up Bid For Henderson
The bidding war for Henderson has reached up to Darren Bent levels as Liverpool have placed a bid of 18 million pounds for the (sometimes) English International. Dalglish is intent on adding youthful British players to the side and views Henderson as the perfect fit for his midfield.
Sunderland insiders are shocked by how quickly Liverpool have upped their offer. They were thinking of a £16 million sale, but now their negotiators reckon they may get even more.
The Daily Mirror
So it looks like Sunderland are laughing all the way to the bank here.
As the summer transfer window is looming ever closer, Two Liverpool Fans is here to update you guys on all your latest transfer news

With Nicklas Bendtner very likely to depart from the Emirates in the coming weeks, Arsene Wenger has now set his sighs on Tottenham Hotspur forward Jermain Defoe as an ideal replacement for the want-away Dane.
Jermain Defoe has endured a frustrating season after being outclassed by Rafael Van der Vaart and Peter Crouch for a place in the starting lineup due to a number of lacklustre performances.
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be willing to listen to offers for their £10million-rated striker – a statement which has pretty much caught the attention of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has expressed his desperation in adding another world-class striker to his squad after year-after-year of disappointing seasons in the Barclays Premier League.
Inconsistency in finding the back of the net was one of the major problems Arsenal had last season as Robin Van Persie was the only one of the strikers who has really posed a genuine goal threat to their opponents.
Therefore, Arsene Wenger believes that the arrival of England star Jermain Defoe is the perfect way to solve his problem.
Veteran goalkeeper Brad Friedel has agreed to sign for Tottenham Hotspur on a two-year contract.
His arrival might put Heurelho Gomez on the bench next season as the Brazilian has endured a miserable season at White Hart Lane – making costly errors, rushing out at stupid times, dropping the ball at dangerous situations and some embarrassing moments.
Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have certainly lost their fate in Gomes. Yes, at his best, he is able to might pull off the best saves and stop the deadliest finishers around (that was last season when he played a vital part in getting Tottenham into the top 4), but at his worst, he’s just horrible to watch sometimes.
Arrival of a world-class and experienced goalkeeper and already having a good-enough backup on the bench (Carlo Cudicini), could this spell the departure of Heurelho Gomes from White Hart Lane?
Friedel was snapped up by Aston Villa back in July 2008 and broke the record for consecutive top-flight appearances when he lined up for a 167th straight game the following year.
Today, the 40-year-old has extended his unbelievable run to an unprecedented 275 matches and will definitely be aiming to establish himself as Spurs’ number one for the new season.
Manager Harry Redknapp is obviously in buoyant mood following his first major signing in the current transfer window.
Brad is a top goalkeeper of real quality who has great experience.
It is good to have three such experienced top goalkeepers at the club in Gomes, Carlo (Cudicini) and now Brad and it means we have competition for places particularly with the number of games we will hopefully face next year both domestically and in Europe as well.
