FIFA 12: The Game Of Our Generation? [VIDEO]

The guys down in Canada have done it again, another addition to the FIFA franchise and it looks like a keeper. Amazing graphics, and simply looking absolutely stunning

Ok, so what I have beside me here is a screenshot from last year’s game, FIFA 11, and what’s amazing about this year’s game is that they have rectified a lot of the problems, including that occasional glitch where you can literally slice through a player’s legs, and come out completely unscathed.

I really hate it when I look at the replays at a high zoom in level and I see stuff like that happening so kudos to the guys at EA for making in better and better each year.

This time FIFA takes into account a wide range of variables when it comes to the hard tackle; balance, weight, momentum, direction and impact area are all factored into your opponent’s reaction making the physical element of the game look visually stunning.

The impact engine looks amazing as well, with jostles looking amazing in full HD and tackles beautifully presented in the trailer for it’s new element of the game, which is the Impact Engine. So that’s something that I’m looking forward to seeing in action.

Another cool thing mentioned about this year’s game is that you’ll also have to be more careful with choosing your decisions in the career and tournament modes. For example, a player whom has recently pulled his hamstring won’t exactly be the best player in the world when immediately thrown back into the mix as soon as he gets back from the physio and is far more likely to be back on the bench if he takes another blow to the hamstring without time to fully recover.

So as promised, here’s a video of FIFA 12’s new Impact Engine in action!

Falcao 4 Goal Hero

Radamel Falcao found the back of the net four times in the second-half to help his side Porto battle back from a half-time deficit against Spanish outfit Villareal to win an astounding 5-1 – which leaves the Portuguese giants all but through to the final of the Europa League.

Villarreal were the ones who strucked first on the stroke of half-time thanks to a goal from Cani but Porto, led by an inspiring Falcao, hit back with a massive five goals in a stunning display after the break to take total control of the semi-final.

Falcao won and converted a penalty to draw Porto level and, after Fredy Guarin had put Porto 2-1 into the driver’s seat, the Colombian sensation netted further goals in the 67th, 75th and 90th minutes to complete a remarkable comeback from manager Andre Villas-Boas’ in-form side.

It was an unforgettable game for the Porto striker.

It’s the first time I’ve scored a ‘poker’, four goals. A magical night that I will never forget!

Radamel Falcao

In the other semi-final fixture, a splendid free kick by Paraguay striker Oscar Cardozo gave Benfica a much-needed 2-1 home win over Braga in their all-Portuguese battle.
