Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and captain Nemanja Vidic both gave their praising words to champions Barcelona after being upstaged by the Catalan sensations in the UEFA Champions League final match at Wembley.
Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that his opponents Barcelona were the best side he had ever faced in 25 years as Manchester United manager after his dreams of a third Champions League triumph were wrecked by Pep Guardiola’s men.
In my time as a manager it is the best team we have faced. I think everyone acknowledges that. I accept that. It’s not easy when you have been well beaten like that to think any other way.
No one has given us a hiding like that. It’s a great moment for them. They deserve it because they play the right way and they enjoy their football.
They mesmerise you with their passing and we never really controlled Messi. When we got the lifeline of Wayne Rooney I expected us to do better in the second half but it wasn’t to be.

Meanwhile, Red Devils captain Nemanja Vidic admitted that Barcelona were simply the better team throughout the thrilling finale and claimed that they were nothing else than deserving champions.
Pedro, Lionel Messi and David Villa grabbed the crucial goals for Barcelona, with Wayne Rooney scoring for the English champions in the first half to cancel out Pedro opening goal and Vidic praised the performance of the Catalan masters.
I think if you look at it we have never played a team in the past like Barcelona, they played good football and deserved to win.
We tried to press high and in some parts of the game we did well. The goals we lost, we didn’t do what we have to do to close their players down. When they have time on the ball they can make the final pass and that is what they did.
