The May 28th Transfer Gossip

It’s Saturday, May 28th and that means our transfer gossip column is continuing as usual, along with the fact that the Champions League final is about to kick off today!!

Arsenal Waiting on Samir Nasri

It looks like the makings of two huge transfer sagas that Arsenal will have to deal with this summer, both his star midfield players. As it is still uncertain as to whether Nasri will sign a contract extension that will tie him to the Emirates for a longer period of time.

Nasri has been offered a five-year deal in the region of £90,000-per-week – but is stalling on signing.

Gunners sources insist the club are confident the France forward will extend his stay at the Emirates. But Wenger does not want the contract stand-off to drag on much longer so that he has enough time to sign a replacement, namely Downing.

And the Frenchman has instructed the Gunners hierarchy to get a definitive answer

Tevez Rejects move to Juve

Carlos Tevez has rejected a move to Juventus in the summer after refusing a contract that would have earned him 20 million euros a year. Here’s the full report:

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has turned down an incredible £20m a year offer from Juventus and is now set to stay at Eastlands.

The Daily Mail

Well, so that perhaps even leaves me without a clue to where he actually wants to go in the summer because he indeed mention that Italy was one of his ideal destinations. My guess would be that he’s waiting for a team like Barcelona or Real Madrid to step in and place a bid for him.

Liverpool to make move for Birmingham City defender

With Birmingham City already relegated, Liverpool are looking to steal Birmingham City centerback Scott Dann. The Metro reports that the Birmingham City defender is a lifelong fan of the Merseyside club and would welcome the move after Birmingham were relegated to the Championship.

The Chase for Downing

Arsenal and Liverpool FC have stepped up their interest in Downing as he has declined a contract renewal offer by Aston Villa. So that’s an interesting one to watch.
