Manchester United managed to secure a 2-1 victory over fierce rivals, Chelsea with their victory at Old Trafford that will see them eventually win their 19th Premier League (English First Division) title.
Hernandez opened the scoring after barely 40 seconds with Manchester United attacking Chelsea on the break, and then finishing off calmly to leave Chelsea players devastated. It was his 20th goal of the season and Manchester United should be well happy they managed to pull of his signing.
The second goal came when rather bad defending by Chelsea allowed Vidic to sneak in and head in a Ryan Giggs cross. Coming in from outside the box, Vidic quietly made his way in and managed to get Manchester United’s 2nd to leave Chelsea in the dumps.
The team talk by Ancelotti must have lifted his side as the fairly mechanical display in the first half improved quite drastically and it was eventually rewarded with a goal, with Lampard’s quick thinking allowing him to grab a goal.
This leaves Chelsea 6 points behind Manchester United with only 2 games to play. There surely is no more hope for Chelsea now, with only a disaster for Manchester United going to stop their march for their 19th Premier League crown.
