Breakthrough Players of the La Liga this Season

Well, we know about Hernandez and Luis Suarez now, so let’s see the new breakthroughs in this season’s La Liga and where they might be headed

Xabi Prieto (Real Sociedad)

The 27 year old has been an absolute revelation for Real Sociedad in the La Liga this season, garnering himself many goals and assists. He’s got 7 goals and 11 assists from a total of 34 appearances he has made so far.

Such is the importance of the midfielder at Sociedad. He’s even scored against Barcelona this season, with a penalty to beat Valdes against the Catalans. Among his potential suitors next season are Liverpool FC who are intent on beefing up their midfield with added creativity.

Pablo Osvaldo (Espanyol)

Most of you guys probably haven’t heard of Osvaldo before the season, and most likely you still haven’t, but the Espanyol front man has had a knack of scoring goals this season. He’s bagged an impressive 11 goals and 3 assists in just 21 appearances, not bad for anyone really.

He’s been likened to a ‘new Diego Milito’ although he has already reached the age of 25. Tottenham, Everton and even Manchester United are mentioned among the teams whom are interested.

Diego Colotto (Deportivo)

Diego Colotto is a player who has fine positioning skills alongside a wonderful ability to read the play. Well, we’ll forget him in terms of striking ability because fact is, that he’s a defender, so let’s look at his defensive game.

Deportivo have had a dismal season to say the least, struggling in 18th position, but they could very well be bottom of the La Liga now had Colotto not been in wonderful form this season. His defending is colossal and strikers hate facing him. He seems very likely to move on in the summer
