At just the age of 18, Mario Gotze is already a first team regular for Borussia Dortmund and seems to be one of the most promising talents Germany has not seen for many years.
Having successfully burst into the Dortmund starting lineup this season, he has made a massive impact with six goals and 11 assists in 31 appearances to his name.
Aside from his excellence in technical abilities, a player that is able to pass the ball from any range and a prodigious and astute footballing brain, Mario Gotze proved versatility this term as he has been deployed in the centre of the park and on both flanks, always looking capable of causing all sorts of trouble for the opposition defence from any angle.
Gotze has featured three times for Germany, his first came during his country’s clash with Italy – when he only played 12 minutes. He was then present in Germany’s most recent 4-0 destruction of Kazakhstan in a March 2011 Euro 2012 qualifying match.
The youngster is currently under contract at Borussia Dortmund until 2014, but has revealed that a move to European giants such as Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United would be a dream come true for him.
