Another Gem Of A Signing For Arsenal?

Arsenal have officially completed the 1 million pound signing for former N-Power Championship left back, Charlton’s very own young left back in Carl Jenkinson.

Tall in physique, the left back has been making quite remarkable displays given his age and will reportedly quit current club, Charlton Athletic to join the Gunners come the summer transfer window. His deal with the red and whites expires in the summer.

Jenkinson was born in the London area but has played for both England and Finland at youth level. Arsenal will have to cough up a sum that could rise to over £1 million for his signature rather than go to a tribunal. Jenkinson is likely to stay under Wenger’s wing next season but could be loaned out during the campaign

This is another example yet again that Arsene Wenger likes to save the dough and instead find gems out of players, in  my opinion, a good move to sign an English player, given that Arsenal have many foreigners and will struggle to incorporate the naturalization rule that will come to effect quite soon in the BPL.

This signing will also help in easing the departure of French left back Gael Clichy, given the fact that he too will be leaving his club in the summer as his contract is set to expire.
