Mourinho Finally Loses At Home

The streak has ENDED!

Real Madrid suffered their first home defeat in the Spanish La Liga this season after being humbled to a 1-0 loss by Sporting Gijon.

With only 8 games left to play for, they are currently eight points behind current league leaders Barcelona after Pep Guardiola’s men battled to a hard fought 1-0 win Villareal.

The defeat meant Jose Mourinho’s remarkable nine-year unbeaten streak at home has been ended. The Portuguese’s previous defeat at home was during his former side FC Porto’s 3-2 loss to Beira Mar all the way back in February 2002.

The decisive goal of the Real Madrid vs Sporting Gijon match came in the 79th minute when Miguel de las Cuevas broke free on the edge of the area and fired in off the post.

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho believes that there is almost no more hope for his side to clinch the La Liga title at the end of the season.

The mathematicians say the league is not lost, but objectively, we can say that it is practically impossible.
