Liverpool FC and Arsenal Stars Shine For England [Highlights]

One for the future... Wilshere

Wasteful: That could be said of England against Ghana yesterday, as they had a 1-0 lead, and they conceded right on the 90 minute mark. The match did have several positives though

It was another amazing performance for Arsenal’s young Jack Wilshere, with him playing the defensive midfield role once again proving to be pivotal in England’s hopes and showing exactly why Capello and Stuart Pearce so desperately want him for the U 21 European championships.

He stole the ball back on more than a number of occasions, and was the engine that was driving the England team forward, it was another wonderful Jack Wilshere performance, a performance that was enough to land him the ‘Man of The Match’ award.

Andy Carroll has also performed respectably well, earning England their goal, but in all honesty, he performed fairly mediocrely throughout the match, the lack of match practice likely to be the reason behind the rust in his gears yesterday night at Wembley.

Praise must go to Joe Hart and James Milner though, they both performed superbly well as well. Joe Hart made a number of sound saves for England, his one on one situation with Gyan being exemplary to that. He was unlucky to have conceded that goal late on.

James Milner was a superb all rounder yesterday, with wonderful close control and the passing to match, Milner will certainly want to build on that performance and continue playing for England. Teed up the ball to Andy Carroll to score their solitary goal.
