The 23-year-old has failed to make any significant impact for the Catalans this season after his previous season for the club turned out to be the most impressive one he’s had at Barcelona.
Jeffren has only featured in four La Liga games for Pep Guardiola’s side so far this season, all coming out as a substitute. He is expected to be valued approximately £8.7 million due to the buy-out clause as the lad is still under contract at Camp Nou until 2012, but Kop boss Kenny Dalglish is certainly not intending to stop the chase for the Venezuela-born ace.
Despite the limited chances given for Jeffren to perform, the former Spain U-21 star has found the back of the net during Barcelona’s unprecedented 5-0 over arch rivals Real Madrid earlier this season.
Liverpool are in a wild search for a speedy and skillful winger, and as the chances of Ashley Young and Eljero Elia’s moving tothe club are quite slim, Jeffren seems to be set to be offered the Anfield hot-seat on a permanent basis when the transfer window reopens.
