Another Player That Arsenal Are ‘Linked’ With

Buffon to the Emirates?

Well, the goalkeeping horror show seems set to continue, with Arsene Wenger seemingly continuing his trend of making false promises. (No hater comments please)

Buffon apparently is rumoured to be linked with a surprise move to London with Arsenal apparently interested in the 33 year old goalkeeper. La Republica reports the 33-year-old’s contract expires in 2013 but negotiations over a new deal stalled as the Old Lady wants to half his €6million a year salary.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to pay his contract demands due to their current goalkeeping crisis at the Emirates and may very well bid for the player in the summer. Buffon rejected a bid from Manchester United last summer but he and his family are tempted more by a move to North London.

Juventus would apparently be happier should Dutch striker Robin Van Persie gets thrown into the deal, with Juventus having long term interest in the injury-prone striker.

Future? I do not feel I need to address this issue now. Juve are experiencing a situation so delicate, contrasting with the club’s history that the last thing interesting to the fans are the individual situations

Gigi Buffon, Juventus

Buffon has also been linked with a summer move to Roma in the summer, but Juventus have ruled out the possibility of selling their star goalkeeper to an Italian rival.
