Arsenal Rejected Chance To Sign Chelsea Hero

Cech... The one that got away

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has revealed in a tell-all interview that London rivals Arsenalrejected the chance to sign him because they did not think he was not up to standard.

Well here’s something that would most certainly piss the Arsenal fans off. (No hater comments please) Peter Cech is in fact one that got away for Arsenal. The 28-year-old has become one of the finest keepers in the world at Chelsea but the Gunners passed up the opportunity to sign him in 200

At that point, Arsenal were looking for someone to take the mantle of replacing the retiring David Seaman. He was watched by Arsenal scouts, but Wenger was put off by the fact that he was not able to qualify for a work permit. The Czech Republic international ended up at French side Rennes, while Arsenal went for the enigmatic German international, Jens Lehmann.

Before I went to Rennes I was watched by Arsenal but when I couldn’t get a work permit the situation was missed

Arsenal are currently having goalkeeping worries, as number one goalkeeper Szczesny is currently out through injury. He suffered a finger injury in their second leg Champions League round of sixteen tie against Barcelona.

Did you hear he couldn’t get a work permit. meaning Arsenal and their incredible scouting unit did actually recognize cech’s talent before chelsea. Chelsea only got him because of the sugar daddy handouts of roman. If anything this should make arsenal fans even more confident in the scouting ability of Arsenal.
