Liverpool’s wild hunt in search of a quality winger is still on, and guess who’s just made it to their shortlist?
After getting his shock England call-up, Wolves winger Matt Jarvis’ eye-catching performances in the Barclays Premier League has attracted the interest from the 18-time Premier League winners, Liverpool FC.
Jarvis has been named in two provisional squads before but never made the cut, and received his opportunity in Fabio Capello’s 26-man squad due to the absences of Theo Walcott and Adam Johnson.
With Kop manager Kenny Dalglish desperate to look for someone who is capable of providing well-timed crosses in for their big forward Andy Carroll, Matt Jarvis is certainly fitting into Liverpool’s plans as his ability in crossing has been terrific.
Jarvis’ lightning pace and phenomenal accuracy in deliveries has been outstanding so far this season and he ranks amongst the Premier Leagues top 10 for key passes in a match.
The Wolves star winger will cost approximately £10 million, having being valued at just £600,000 in the year 2007. However, Liverpool will most likely not mind to add another 1 or 2 million into the transfer fee as they try to persuade the 24-year-old in making a move to Anfield.
