It looks set: Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll should play together up front in their clash with Sunderland at Tyneside. The duo have played barely 5 minutes of football together
Liverpool FC are set to unleash their attacking duo of Suarez-Carroll today as both are eligible and fit to play in tomorrow’s game against Sunderland and Suarez will especially be hungry for a goal out there, having not played first team football for Liverpool following the International break and his cup tie which left him out of the Liverpool-Braga match.
To add extra spice to the encounter, Suarez will face Muntari and Gyan, both Ghanaian and got kicked out of the World Cup almost single handedly (get it) through Suarez’s handball. Suarez has only played alongside Carroll for a total of almost less than 5 minutes and will take some time to adapt to the tall and physical striker.
Defender Daniel Agger may be fit, having missed the last four matches with a knee injury, but the Reds will be without captain Steven Gerrard (groin), defenders Martin Kelly and Fabio Aurelio (both hamstring) and midfielder Jonjo Shelvey (knee).
Skipper Lee Cattermole (back), defender Nedum Onuoha and midfielder Bolo Zenden (both calf), will all be included after resuming full training, while Danny Welbeck could be handed a first start after his return from a knee injury at Arsenal a fortnight ago.
