Steven Gerrard sidelined for 1 month

Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard will have his head in his hands after scans indicated that he will be out of action for a month.

Steven Gerrard needed to go for surgery on his groin – the injury that has been bothering him since February 6th, during Liverpool’s clash against Chelsea at Anfield.

The troubling groin injury wasn’t enough to keep Gerrard in the sidelines as he persevered to play all 90 minutes during his side’s impressive 3-1 victory over arch rivals Manchester United. But unfortunately it got too serious, therefore forcing him to miss Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat in Braga on Thursday.

He will be missing Liverpool’s Barclays Premier League game against Sunderland, England’s qualifier in Cardiff on 26 March and the international friendly against Ghana three days later.

Steven Gerrard is likely to return to action during Manchester City’s visit to Anfield, which falls on 11th April.
