Well, Arsenal’s goalkeeping has been boosted by Wojciech Szczesny’s recent arrival to first team, but he has been ruled out for the rest of the season, leaving only one recognized goalkeeper in Arsenal
Wojciech Szczesny’s rise to the top of Arsenal’s permanent number 1 goalkeeper has been halted by the finger injury that he suffered against Barcelona, leaving him out of any football action for the rest of the season. He has been a recent regular in the Arsenal side and has kept 4 clean sheets for Arsenal to date.
His form has certainly propelled him to dizzying heights, especially for such a tender 20 year old. He spent his last season with Arsenal o loan at Brentford.
Lukasz Fabianski has already ruled out for the season following shoulder surgery resulting from a game of kick about with Szczesny himself, while youngster Vito Mannone and James Shea are on-loan at Hull City and Southampton respectively. Vito Mannone played several games for Arsenal last season while deputizing for the injured at that point Almunia.
This leaves Arsenal with only one recognized goalkeeper in the team: Manuel Almunia, after he played a role in their defeat to Barcelona after Szczesny’s injury forced him to be taken off on the 19 minute mark at the Nou Camp, the score being 0-0 at that point.
